Online LaTeX editor with an AI assistant
Write LaTeX and watch the PDF rebuild when you pause. XeLaTeX runs as WebAssembly in your browser, so compiling is free and unlimited. When you want help, the AI assistant fixes errors, rewrites sections and inserts tables or equations as reviewable edits.
What it does
AI assistant that edits your source
Ask in plain language — fix this error, polish the introduction, add a booktabs table. The assistant reads your project and compile log, proposes exact patches across files, compiles them first and shows a diff. Nothing changes until you apply it, and one click undoes it.
Compiles in your browser
A full XeLaTeX engine runs as WebAssembly on your own machine. No server queue or per-compile charge, and editing and compiling stay on this computer.
Recompiles as you write
Stop typing for a moment and the PDF rebuilds, keeping your scroll position. A failed build leaves the last good PDF on screen.
Jumps to the failing line
When a build fails, the line number is pulled out of the TeX log and turned into a button — click it and the cursor lands on the offending line, or ask the AI to fix it.
Real projects, not just one file
Import an Overleaf export as a .zip — sections, .bib, .cls and figures included. Start from Word or PDF to get a LaTeX draft.
Chinese and Unicode out of the box
XeLaTeX with bundled CJK fonts, so \documentclass{ctexart} or \usepackage{ctex} compiles without setup.
How to use it

- Write, or import a projectType directly, pick a template, or open an Overleaf .zip, a Word file or a PDF.
- Ask the AI for helpSign in, open the AI assistant and describe the change. Review the compiled diff, then apply it.
- Fix errors from the logOn a failure the log opens with a shortcut to the failing line. The last good PDF stays visible.
- Download the resultsDownload the compiled PDF, or save the whole project as a .zip.
Frequently asked questions
Is this LaTeX editor free?
Writing, compiling and exporting are free and unlimited because XeLaTeX runs in your browser. The AI assistant and PDF-to-LaTeX conversion need a Pigletgo account and use credits or your Auto allowance.
How does the AI assistant edit LaTeX?
It reads the current project, selection and compile log, then proposes exact replacements in your files. Each proposal is compiled in the background first; you see a diff and decide whether to apply it. Applied edits can be undone from the toolbar.
How much does the AI cost?
AI usage is billed at 1 credit per 1,000 tokens (input plus output) times the chosen model's multiplier. Auto uses the Auto allowance shared by all Pigletgo products; when it runs out you can continue with credits. Every reply shows what it used.
Is it an Overleaf alternative?
For writing and compiling, yes — multi-file projects included, with free browser compilation and an AI assistant. It does not offer real-time multi-author collaboration.
Can I import my Overleaf project?
Yes. Download it from Overleaf as a .zip and open it here. The wrapper folder is stripped, the file with \documentclass becomes the main file, and figures and .bib files come across with it.
Does my document get uploaded?
Not for editing, compiling or Word import — those stay in the browser. When you use the AI assistant or PDF conversion, the relevant source excerpt, attachments or page images are sent for that request.
Can I compile a Chinese LaTeX document?
Yes. XeLaTeX plus the bundled CJK fonts means \usepackage{ctex} works out of the box.
Do figures work?
Yes — PNG, JPEG, PDF and EPS files in the project are embedded by \includegraphics just as with a local TeX installation.
What happens to my work if I close the tab?
Projects are kept in browser storage and reload when you come back. Clearing site data or private browsing removes them, so download anything important.
