Guide

Piglet Go LaTeX guide

Write in code or visual mode, see the PDF update as you type, and let the AI assistant fix errors or draft sections for you to review.

Open the editor

01Getting started

  • Open the editor and a starter document is ready. Nothing to install.
  • New document starts from a blank page; use the template button next to it for a sample, paper, notes or resume. You can also import an Overleaf .zip, a .tex file, a Word document or a PDF.
  • Documents save automatically in this browser and appear under Recent documents in the left sidebar. Download a .zip from time to time as a backup.

02Code and Visual modes

  • The PDF preview is always on screen. The code pane and the AI assistant can each be shown or hidden from the left sidebar, so you can write by hand, work only with the assistant, or both.
  • Code mode shows the source with highlighting and autocompletion. Visual mode shows headings, bold and italic text, lists and formulas as they will look in print. Click anything to edit its source.
  • Use the toolbar for headings, bold, italic, math, lists, links, figures and tables. ⌘/Ctrl + B and ⌘/Ctrl + I work too.

03Preview and errors

  • The PDF refreshes shortly after you stop typing. Turn auto-refresh off from the Recompile menu, or press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter.
  • If something fails, the error count appears next to Recompile. Open it to see each problem and jump to the line.
  • The last good PDF stays on screen while you fix it.

04AI assistant

  • Sign in, open the assistant and describe what you want: fix the errors, polish a section, add a table, explain a formula.
  • Edits are checked first and shown as a diff. Nothing changes until you apply them, and you can undo afterwards.
  • Select text before asking to focus the assistant on that passage. You can attach images, PDFs or text files as reference.

05Projects and files

  • A document can contain several files: chapters, a .bib bibliography, class files and images.
  • Open the file list with the folder button in the code pane, then add or upload files. The star marks the main file that is compiled.
  • The outline below the file list jumps to any section.

?FAQ

Is it free?

Writing, previewing and downloading PDFs are free. The AI assistant and PDF conversion use your Piglet Auto allowance or credits; each reply shows what it used.

Does it support Chinese?

Yes. Start from the Chinese template, or use \documentclass{ctexart} or \usepackage{ctex}.

Can I bring my Overleaf project?

Yes. Download it from Overleaf as a .zip and import it. The main file is detected automatically.

Where are my documents stored?

In this browser. Clearing site data or using a private window removes them, so keep a .zip backup of important work.

What does the AI see?

Only what a request needs: the relevant source, the selection, recent errors and any files you attach.

Can several people edit together?

Not yet. Share the .zip to hand a project to someone else.
